It's a challenging epic that has provoked many questions already. The impressive storytelling tackles big themes-equality, bigotry, migration, loneliness, love, death-as well as a soul-crushing pandemic. In To Paradise, Yanagihara crafts an alternative history in three different narratives set in three different centuries, spanning from New York to Hawaii and back again. ![]() The new novel also mostly centers around gay men in surprising ways.
